IRIS graphics Collage mode fails on projector boot

We are using the Collage feature for blended projectors and since the NUC (5i5RYH) has been upgraded to Windows 10 the graphics fail to hold their settings every morning when we switch on the blended projection system. We have a range of compute systems and the NUC IRIS 6100 collage graphics are the only compute devices requiring interaction every morning to restore the Collage profile.(Nvidia and ATI are fine) When the WUXGA projectors switch off, they are still in stand-by mode and the graphics hold their settings. When the projectors are switched on from standby the Collage settings fail and the profile needs to be restored every day.

Driver version is 20.19.15.4624

Hi,

I have updated the 3 x Intel NUC's to the latest drivers for all components. The graphics drivers on 2 different models of Nuc are running the latest versions, and the issue still persists. The issue seems to be the EDID query from the projector on start up is causing the graphics Collage settings to be disabled. The projectors go into standby each night, so when the lamps are switched off there is still a connection between the graphics card and the projector, everything is fine, the Collage settings hold. The moment any projectors are switched on, the EDID query is sent again, so the graphics cards behave if they are seeing a new display again and disable Collage. Each day we have to reinstate and enable the Intel graphics collage profile. The settings on the Nvidia and ATI cards hold their surround and Eyefinity settings with exactly the same projector hardware. I am thinking of rolling back Intel graphics drivers until I find a version that can hold it's collage settings, but that seems to be like finding a needle in a haystack as you could appreciate.

In order to help you better I would like to gather more information about the configuration you have in the computer. Please let me also know the model number of the projector you are using.

Does the issue happen specifically with Collage Mode? Have you tried different Display mode like Extended Desktop?

Are you able to try different projector model by any chance?

To attach a file, you must click "Use Advanced Editor" on the upper right hand corner of the response box, then the "attach" option will appear on the bottom right hand corner of the response box.

Hi,

I have run the SSU application and attached the report. I have downloaded and updated all system drivers to their current versions.

The Collage mode is still losing the settings when the stitched and blended projectors are taken out of standby and each morning; we have to rectify 3 of the 6 display systems at site by re-activating the saved collage profile from the Iris card settings.

I would like you to try completely uninstalling the graphics driver and then reinstalling latest one. Please download the driver that is on this link https://downloadmirror.intel.com/26984/eng/win64_154036.4703.exe https://downloadmirror.intel.com/26984/eng/win64_154036.4703.exe

As soon as the file has been downloaded on the keyboard press WinLogo key + r, then type in devmgmt.msc, double click on Display Adapters -> Intel HD Graphics -> Driver tab -> Uninstall -> Select the check box Delete the driver software for this device -> OK, restart the computer, and then reinstall the driver I provided.

If possible try Collage Mode on either different projector model or a regular monitor, and let me know if issue happens or not.

In case you are using a long video cable please try using a shorter one with no adapters.

Let me know if issue persists or not.

Hello,

I have installed the new driver and the issue still persists. The cable length is 30 centimetres with no adaptors. Mini Display Port to HDMI into Projector, other side is Mini HDMI into HDMI into projector. The blended projectors are Epson G7905U models, and are nearly all the same across site. We have 3 x NUC blended systems each attached to two Epson Projectors which require collage profile restoration each day. The other model we have in another 2 channel blended system is Epson EB-1505U in dual channel blended array. This is attached to an INTEL NUC also and also requires Collage profile restoration each day. So with a blended image on the projection screen, when I switch a single projector into stand-by the image onscreen does not change with respects to blend/resolution. As soon as the projector comes out of stand-by, the image drops out completely from the other projector and reverts to a single display with collage disabled. This is not supposed to occur, it is as if the EDID return string query from the projector is resetting the INTEL Iris display settings? On other systems with the same projectors and much longer cable lengths with adaptors the projectors can be put in standby and brought back from standby with no changes in the display. Hi Fred,

We are still having to reset the Intel graphics IRIS profile each morning. I have rolled back the drivers and no luck with the EDID being reset every time a display comes out of standby.

My client is upgrading from the Intel NUC's to Nvidia based machines as they are not coping with the level of demand required for web based data visualisation.
