Hi everyone.

I have downloaded the zip version of the graphics drivers for the 7200U chip, that is, for the HD 620 GPU. However, when I use the device manager with the "find disk" method and load the igdlh64.ini file, it only lists the 500 series drivers. Now 600 series drivers.

I used the link https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/96551/Intel-HD-Graphics-620 Downloads for Intel® HD Graphics 620 .

What is going on? Are the 500 series drivers the same as the 600 series drivers? Should I just use the HD 520?

Cheers.

Are you trying to install your Kabylake under Windows 7? That combination won't be supported.

I have no idea why Microsoft and Intel made this decision and i'm afraid they won't tell us.

Check this thread:

Thank you for the info. But seriously, I thought that it was only the updates that were no longer supported. Was that not what M$ said (which was also going back on their word that they would give win7 support up to 2020, but thats a different issue)...

Lucky there is a workaround : Btw. I would rather install Linux.

I will never install windows 10. The only thing M$ will do with this, is drive me completely away from Windows... I'd rather go with Mac [sic.] than windows 10.

Cheers.

Hello Evil_Hamster,

Thank you for contacting the Intel community.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience this can cause to you, unfortunately the Intel® HD Graphics driver for Kabylake is only supported on Windows® 10, and it is supported on Windows® 7 - 8.1 on Skylake processors. You can see the release notes here:

https://downloadmirror.intel.com/26772/eng/ReleaseNotes_GFX_154518.4664.pdf https://downloadmirror.intel.com/26772/eng/ReleaseNotes_GFX_154518.4664.pdf

I can see that you found a work around on the Intel community to install the driver on Windows® 7; I hope that can help you.

Best regards,

Ivan.
