I played Counter Strike 1.6 and CS GO just fine with low settings. I am getting horrible screen tearing from the last month. I didn't change any video or game or driver settings. I have a 60 Hz monitor. My cpu is i5 4440 and gpu is Inter® HD Graphics 4600. My driver version is 10.18.10.3540 and I have reinstalled it many times but still getting the tearing. "It didn't happen before. I am sure about that". Even during Windows startup (Windows 7), when the fire flies rotate I get a bit screen tearing. Please help 😞

Hi X0du$,

There are newer graphics drivers for Intel® HD Graphics 4600 for 4th Generation Intel® Core™ Processors. The latest version is 4332.

It is possible to download the latest drivers from the link below.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/81496/Intel-HD-Graphics-4600-for-4th-Generation-Intel-Core-Processors Drivers & Software

I suggest you to double check if your motherboard (PC) manufacturer released new drivers.

Regards,

Mike C

Hi mikec_intel,

I updated it to the newer driver version 10.18.14.4332, but the screen tearing persists. Is my Intel hd graphics wearing out?(I don't see any fps drops) Should I resinstall Windows 7 on my pc? Does that help?

Hi X0du$,

Verify if your PC has the latest Chipset and Management Engine drivers from the board manufacturer website.

Intel already tested the game CS GO with the HD graphics 4600. Intel suggested the settings below.

https://gameplay.intel.com/GamesSettings/6896/75038/Intel%C2%AE%20Core%E2%84%A2%20i5-4440%20Processor%20(6M%20Cache,%20up%20to%203.30%20GHz https://gameplay.intel.com/GamesSettings/6896/75038/Intel%C2%AE%20Core%E2%84%A2%20i5-4440%20Processor%20(6M%20Cache,%20up%20to%203.30%20GHz)

Regards,

Mike C

Hi mikec_intel,

Thank you. I will try that settings. Still asking , does an intel gpu fail or wear out or is it robust like that of the cpu (i.e. if the cpu is upto the mark so is the iGPU) ??

Hi X0du$,

The graphics are embedded in the processor and they provide with the same quality of the cpu. Now, the processor itself has a microchip inside, it will slow down the processor speed including the graphics if temperature if high while running heavy workloads.

Regards,

Mike C
