When using on the Edit ("one-up") screen part of the prior image often remains (especially with scaling disabled). The workaround is to use instead of !

Is there a solution? I tried Microsoft's suggestions without luck. Neither their Photos app nor Viewer has this problem.

Hello, Tom_Martin:

Have you tried testing the latest driver for the device you are using? The recommendation would be to download the drivers directly from the manufacturer's website (HP, Dell, Lenovo, etc...)

If the problem persists, you can test the system using our generic drivers, we cannot assure any special features added by the OEM would be available while using Intel® generic drivers.

How to find the graphics drivers?

1. Search de model of your processor here: http://ark.intel.com/ ARK | Your Source for Intel® Product Specifications

2. Look for Graphics specification

3. Access https://downloadcenter.intel.com/ Drivers & Software

4. Look for the graphics engine in your unit (Intel® HD Graphics xxxx)

5. Make sure you select the correct OS and version.

Regards,

Esteban C

Since I've been suffering from frequent abends with Asus's "official" version, I switched to the Beta 4326 version a few weeks ago. No luck with either Photo Gallery or the abends.

I hadn't because when I saw the problem was present in the generic driver, I thought it had to be Intel's issue. So you think it's a hardware problem? From what I could find on the web similar issues have always been traced to the graphics driver. If it was a hardware problem would it have such extremely limited impact?

I was hoping that someone with the driver could check to see if they had the same problem. Even with scaling enabled you only have to press a handful of times before the problem surfaces (although it may require viewing photos of very different sizes).

The scaling issue has me puzzled. Shall I experiment to prove that it really DOES make a difference? It seems hard to explain and may well be a coincidence that things looked much worse after I disabled it.

What I'm hoping will happen is that others will report the same problem and a software solution found (I still have no idea how a hardware problem can cause such a limited-range problem). Will people be able to locate this if they search for "Photo Gallery" and "Graphics Driver"?

I think it is a problem with the software and not your hardware. There are better free or open source alternatives I bet, no need to send your unit back when Windows software doesn't work, if everyone did that then we would be sending our computers back every week lol
