Refresh Rate for Intel HD 530

I have a Samsung 2233rz (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001311 Samsung Syncmaster 2233RZ Black 22" 5ms 3D Gaming 120 Hz Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DC 20000:1 w/ HDCP Support-Ne… ) and it supports 120hz.

However, in windows 10 I can only see the option 60Hz.

Should I be able to see the option 120hz with intel hd 530?

I tried everything and nothing worked...

I would like to confirm the support for 120Hz from the graphics controller and the external monitor. Please attach the http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005848.html graphics report generated within graphics control panel.

Also, make sure you are using straight video cables, no adapters to be able to reach 120Hz.

But how about lower resolutions? like 1024.... would it also support only 60hz or in this case more than that?

Yes, the Intel® HD graphics 530 supports lower resolutions. This would depend on the TV or monitor as well, this will be up to 60Hz.

Sorry for busting in this conversation.

According to the link you kindly provided, this monitor only appears to have a DVI input. Please keep in mind that the Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 max refresh rate for DSub/VGA/DVI connections is limited to "DVI single link" pixel rates, thus 1600x1200@60 would be the limit.

If your computer has a DisplayPort (DP) output, then the Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 can support up to 4K@60hz (and thus should handle 1680x1050@120hz). A potential workaround I can think of would be attaching an active DP to DVI dongle from your motherboard DP connector. I'll send you a PM with a little bit more information on this.

Or, as you mention, lowering the resolution could do the trick.
