Star Wars Battlefront wont run on ASUS K55A, i5, 8GB, Win 8.1, intel HD Graphics 4000

My son bought the new video game Star Wars Battlefront and it will not run on his ASUS laptop. It keeps telling him he needs to update his video driver. We have done that several times but we still get the same error. He has an ASUS K55A laptop, intel i5, 8GB memory, Windows 8.1, intel HD Graphics 4000. Intel HD Graphics is his only display adapter. I have attached an MSInfo32.exe export file. have also attached a screen shot of the error message. The game will not start. It tries to start, goes to a black screen and then the error message displays, and then the window closes out. Would anyone be able to tell us, what if anything, we can do to fix it? I

Hi Dan I understand you because I have exactly the same problem with the new battlefront!

I am also looking for an answer although I have a 4th generation intel I7 quad core, 8 GB RAM, windows 8.1 64-bit, intel HD graphics 4600. But when I try to find updates for the driver, I can't find a good one who is compatible with my system.

However, please bear in mind the following information http://starwars.ea.com/starwars/battlefront/news/star-wars-battlefront-community-update-5 http://starwars.ea.com/starwars/battlefront/news/star-wars-battlefront-community-update-5, this link is from the developers of the game and as you can see the requirements are very demanding even the minimum requirements are demanding. If you're running the game out these requirements any issue you might get will be expected.

Hi Amy thanks for this information, but still I have the problem with every new driver that I download and try to install, when I do this I receive the error message that it is not compatible with my system. I tried almost all the drivers that I could find for my system specs.

Hello Dan1193,

I think that it's not a problem with the drivers. It's because you only have an Intel HD Graphics 4000 as a graphic processor. You don't have a true graphic card (NVidia or AMD).

So it's not enough powerful for your game... and lots of other games. I'm sorry for your son, but without a true graphic card, you won't be able to run this game

If the issue persists it might be possible that your system requires a customized driver which it should be provided by your computer manufacturer, you might want to check with them about this driver.

the game works on an iris 5100

there is a bug in the current hd 4000 driver that prevents the game from working this also affected the beta
