System Used: DELL Precision 7530

CPU SKU: i7-8750H

GPU SKU: UHD 630

Graphics Driver Version: 25.20.100.6373

GOP/VBIOS Version: 9.0.1074

Operating System: Windows 10 Pro x64

OS Version: 10.0.17134

I notice strange bug when displaying raster (bitmap) system fonts in applications. When used, there is visible character shadow repeating through the whole line regardless of application window boundaries. I have ruled out screen issues as this is visible even when I take a screenshot. TrueType fonts are unaffected by this. By the time of writing all OS, BIOS, Video drivers are up to date. And Windows were freshly installed.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Set dark non-solid desktop background. Place icons on the desktop.

2. Open Notepad

3. Use fixedsys.fon or terminal.fon and check 'Word Wrap'

4. Position Notepad window so borders are near desktop icons (icons on the right side of window)

5. type letter 'x' continuously until couple of lines filled

On Notepad scroll bar and desktop icons ghostly visible 'x's are appearing.

Thank you for your recommendations. Unfortunately, problem still persists. I have done some more troubleshooting, and on deeper examination, it is possible the issue might be the result of screen processing after all, not graphic card / drivers. I have contacted Dell to see if they have any idea about that.

abohr: You are very welcome. We are sorry to hear the issue persists. Perfect, in this case that will be the next thing to do, Dell might be able to replicate the issue and provide further suggestions for this scenario.

Regards,

Alberto R.

Intel Customer Support Technician

Under Contract to Intel Corporation
