topic Intel HD Graphics Family 4400 Driver Issues? in Graphics

Alright... So I just bought this new Asus Notebook, and there is only one game that I want to play on it. The game is having Graphics issues and the only thing I can think of is the Graphics Card Drivers. I can't seem to get any Driver to work solidly and when I go into my Device Manager to look at my Graphics Card Properties, the Driver date is 4/30/2014. I highly doubt that is the latest driver for the Graphics Card. When I select 'Update Driver' in that menu, it says that it's up to date. My wife had the same issue with the same game but it was fixed after she updated her NVIDIA Graphics Card. Here are my specs:

------------------

System Information

------------------

   Operating System: Windows 8.1 64-bit (6.3, Build 9600) (9600.winblue_gdr.140221-1952)

           Language: English (Regional Setting: English)

System Manufacturer: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC.

       System Model: Q502LA

               BIOS: Q502LA.204

          Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4210U CPU @ 1.70GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.4GHz

             Memory: 8192MB RAM

Available OS Memory: 8076MB RAM

Page File: 2906MB used, 7088MB available

        Windows Dir: C:\Windows

    DirectX Version: DirectX 11

DX Setup Parameters: Not found

User DPI Setting: Using System DPI

System DPI Setting: 120 DPI (125 percent)

    DWM DPI Scaling: UnKnown

     DxDiag Version: 6.03.9600.16384 64bit Unicode

---------------

Display Devices

---------------

Card name: Intel(R) HD Graphics Family

       Manufacturer: Intel Corporation

Chip type: Intel(R) HD Graphics Family

           DAC type: Internal

        Device Type: Full Device

         Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0A16&SUBSYS_168D1043&REV_0B

     Display Memory: 1792 MB

   Dedicated Memory: 32 MB

      Shared Memory: 1760 MB

       Current Mode: 1920 x 1080 (32 bit) (60Hz)

       Monitor Name: Generic PnP Monitor

      Monitor Model: unknown

         Monitor Id: LGD0457

        Native Mode: 1920 x 1080(p) (60.020Hz)

        Output Type: Internal

        Driver Name: igdumdim64.dll,igd10iumd64.dll,igd10iumd64.dll,igdumdim32,igd10iumd32,igd10iumd32

Driver File Version: 10.18.0010.3540 (English)

     Driver Version: 10.18.10.3540

        DDI Version: 11.1

     Feature Levels: 11.1,11.0,10.1,10.0,9.3,9.2,9.1

       Driver Model: WDDM 1.3

Graphics Preemption: DMA

Compute Preemption: Thread

           Miracast: Supported

Hybrid Graphics GPU: Integrated

     Power P-states: Not Supported

  Driver Attributes: Final Retail

   Driver Date/Size: 4/23/2014 14:58:32, 26175360 bytes

        WHQL Logo'd: Yes

    WHQL Date Stamp:

  Device Identifier: {D7B78E66-4956-11CF-277E-8736B6C2C735}

          Vendor ID: 0x8086

          Device ID: 0x0A16

          SubSys ID: 0x168D1043

        Revision ID: 0x000B

Driver Strong Name: oem27.inf:5f63e5341cc65b69:iHSWM_w81:10.18.10.3540:pci\ven_8086&dev_0a16&subsys_168d1043

     Rank Of Driver: 00DA0001

        Video Accel: ModeMPEG2_A ModeMPEG2_C ModeWMV9_C ModeVC1_C

        DXVA2 Modes: DXVA2_ModeMPEG2_VLD DXVA2_ModeMPEG2_IDCT DXVA2_ModeWMV9_IDCT DXVA2_ModeVC1_IDCT DXVA2_ModeH264_VLD_NoFGT

       D3D9 Overlay: Supported

            DXVA-HD: Supported

       DDraw Status: Enabled

         D3D Status: Enabled

         AGP Status: Enabled

Do I need to up my dedicated memory?

The latest graphics driver would be version: 4156, you can download this driver here File name: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downloads/eula/24785/Intel-Iris-and-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-8-1-64-bit?httpDown=http://downloadmirror.intel.com/24785/a08/win64_153618.exe win64_153618.exe

In most cases, the computer manufacturer has already configured the system to use the maximum amount of graphics memory that is possible for your particular computer model. Sometimes you can change these values through BIOS level.

If you are interested in additional information see graphics memory frequently asked questions:

http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-029090.htm Graphics Drivers — Graphics Memory FAQ for Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7*

Allan.

That message indicates that your computer manufacturer does not allow the installation of generic Intel video drives. You are required to install drivers from your computer manufacturer; however, you may try forcing the installation of Intel generic drivers by performing manual procedure, see here for instructions:

http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-022355.htm Graphics Drivers — Computer Manufacturer Graphics Driver Detected

Download the zip version of the video driver: File name: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downloads/eula/24785/Intel-Iris-and-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-8-1-64-bit?httpDown=http://downloadmirror.intel.com/24785/a08/win64_153618.zip win64_153618.zip

Allan.
