Hello Rallymen007;

                Thank you for the information and the BIOS pre-allocated DVMT = 32m, max TOLUD = dynamic.

And Intel and manufacturer assigns 4GB for possible use on the video graphics.

Another option will be on this link http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-029090.htm http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-029090.htm

Which will let you know what is the max memory that the video chipset will be able to use from the onboard RAM.

Regards;

Henry A.

Hi,

It feels like a stupid question, but how can I find how much RAM my HD 4600 is using? From my understanding, allocated memory is dynamic (dxdiag shows 4166 MB of memory, but thankfully it's not using it all) and I would like to be able to know how much is actually allocated for the iGPU at a given time. I have 8 GB of RAM and sometimes while playing GTA V (on the GTX 880M this optimus laptop has) I get that infamous popup where Windows complains about memory usage, yet I usually have around 1 GB free in the task manager. It's really painful as the game usually crashes from this.

Thanks for your suggestions

Hello HenryA,

I've attached the dxdiag report. I only found two settings that felt relevant in the BIOS: preallocated DVMT = 32m, max TOLUD = dynamic. I didn't find a shared memory setting, or at least it wasn't labelled as such.

Thanks,
