Your Windows is OK.

Now check if your BIOS version is up-to-date

http://www.gigabyte.de/Motherboard/Z370-AORUS-Ultra-Gaming-rev-10# support-dl Z370 AORUS Ultra Gaming (rev. 1.0) | Mainboards - GIGABYTE Germany

Solve 1060/1070/1080 VGA issue

Whatever that means.

Check setting in BIOS

VGA Support

Allows you to select which type of operating system to boot.

Auto Enables legacy option ROM only.

EFI Driver Enables EFI option ROM. (Default)

I remember another discussion (but forgot the link) where a user

physically removed the discrete GPU (after powering off)

booted the computer

installed the Intel driver successfully

inserted the discrete GPU again (after powering off)

then both GPUs were available

If that fails it might be an automatic mechanism in BIOS.

Bare in mind you have a desktop, no laptop with Optimus support.

Hey,

I recently bought a new motherboard (Aorus z370 Ultra Gaming) and a i7-8700k CPU. When I tried to install the named "Intel VGA Drivers" from Gigabyte's website I got the error message "this computer does not meet minimum requirements". I then tried to download the graphic drivers for the i7 8700k on Intel's website and got the same error.

I saw an Intel answer on the forums saying that it would be because I have my GTX 1080 drivers already installed and taking charge, so I did a clean uninstall of it with DDU and tried again - same error...

This is particulary annoying since I'm trying to figure out why my second screen which is a VGA screen plugged to a HDMI receiver though an active adaptator won't work either plugged on my GPU or motherboard...

Could I please get some clarifications ? Thank you and have a nice day.

At first: "Windows 10 64 bit anniversary update" or newer is mandatory for Coffee Lake processors.

Does the iGPU appear in device manager?

IIRC there was another discussion, where people stated that it disappeared after installing discrete GPU.

Have you already installed Chipset (INF) driver?

If not, get it here:

https://downloadmirror.intel.com/27359/eng/Chipset_Win10_64_10.1.1.45.zip https://downloadmirror.intel.com/27359/eng/Chipset_Win10_64_10.1.1.45.zip

Get following driver in ZIP format https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27412/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-60- Download Intel® Graphics Driver for Windows* [15.60]

To bypass message "best driver is already installed" or "computer is not validated" install driver via have disk method as described at:

https://www.windowscentral.com/how-install-intel-beta-graphics-drivers-surface https://www.windowscentral.com/how-install-intel-beta-graphics-drivers-surface

(ignore prolog about MS surface)

Hello,

First off thanks for taking the time to answer.

I'm not sure if I have the Windows 10 64bit anniversary update, but I do have the latest 1709 build : 1709.16299.192

However, I don't know if I had the INF driver installed, so I just did install them.

The problem is that the only graphic card I see in my device manager is the 1080, so I can't follow your maneuver... Any clue why ?

It was indeed an automatic setup in the BIOS, the graphic chipset was set to "Auto", switched it to "enabled" and it worked !

I wonder tho, does it stress my CPU to plug my second monitor on its graphic chipset ?

Thank you !
