You don't have to downgrade. The solution is to create/use a compatibility shim for Java.

If you are running MineCraft with 64-bit Java I created a shim for myself which should work for you as well.

I attached it to this reply. Just extract it and double-click install.cmd. I implemented elevation request in the install script itself.

I helped someone a while back with the exact same issue. You probably want to read about it:

/thread/120032 https://communities.intel.com/thread/120032

I also made a video about how to create shims like these from scratch which I linked in that thread.

The reason why it worked in the past for you is because you where running an out-of-date version of Java or an out-of-date version of MineCraft that was using an out-of-date local copy of Java. You hit this issue for Java if you have a SandyBridge or older CPU, you are running Java 8 Update 60 or newer and you are running Windows 10. Other programs are affected in similar fashion if they advertise Windows 10 support to Windows.

Hello Cowboyroy

Thank you for your response and the information of the system

You are having this issue because the graphics controller you have supports up to Windows® 7 and you have Windows® 10. Intel® will not be releasing a Windows 10® graphics driver for this controller. We believe that at some point new hardware is needed to get the most out of new software. Intel® has delivered many exciting new hardware features that are supported in Windows® 10 on newer hardware. Hardware codec acceleration, display support, and others are amongst many new features supported by the 4th Generation Intel® Core™ and newer Intel® processors. I would recommend you to downgrade to Windows® 7 to get full support of the controller.

Regards,

Leonardo C.
