Hello itsstan,

Thank you for contacting Intel Communities.

In this case, since you are referring to HDMI audio, it is integrated to the graphics driver.

According to https://www.asus.com/in/Notebooks/F201E/HelpDesk_Download/ Asus'http://www.asus.com/in/Notebooks/F201E/HelpDesk_Download/ website, there is one audio driver but most likely it is for the analog output (3.5 audio jack).

The last available graphics driver for your processor (from our website) is for Windows 8.1* 32 bit, which means that it is an incompatible driver for your laptop.

I would recommend downloading the latest graphics driver available (for Windows 7*) from Asus' website and install it using compatibility mode.

If you keep on having issues after this, I would recommend contacting https://www.asus.com/us/support/ Asus Support.

Hope this information helps.

Please don't hesitate in replying this post if you need further assistance.

Regards,

Juan Carlos

Hello,

I just installed a new hard drive with a fresh copy of Windows 8.1 64-bit downloaded from Microsoft's website and did the gazillion updates. All's well except for audio over HDMI. The present driver with the fresh install is "Microsoft Driver Version 6.3.9600.16384". I reinstalled the old hard drive, HDMI audio works again. The driver it uses is "Intel Display-Audio Driver Version 6.14.0.3097". I swapped the new hard drive back in and downloaded that Intel driver from a dodgy-looking website. All was well with HDMI but the machine took a while to shut down, even after several reboots. It seems like I downloaded something fishy. I wiped the hard drive and did another clean install.

My question for your great minds out there is: Where should I download this driver from, or is there a new & improved driver that I should be using? I can't find that Intel driver on this website. Help!

I attached my results from the Intel System Support Utility. The computer I'm having trouble with is an Asus Notebook PC model# F201E and I'm trying to get sound into a Pioneer Elite A/V Receiver SC-75

Thx
