hi:

   my video is HD4600.

I have a program which seems have problem with quick sync. it will sometimes freeze the whole computer. can I disable quick sync/open-cl support via windows registry? it's sad that the program did not come with options to disable these usage, so it will be great help if intel video drivers can be set for these.

   thanks a lot for help!!

Hi Tbsky,

It cannot be disabled because Intel® Quick Sync is a feature included on the graphics controller of your processor, I cannot suggest you, any Windows registry modification. How did you find out that the Intel® Quick Sync is the one that freezes your computer? What is the name of the program that you are trying to use?

Check this link to get more information about Intel® Quick Sync

http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/architecture-and-technology/quick-sync-video/quick-sync-video-general.html http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/architecture-and-technology/quick-sync-video/quick-sync-video-general.html

Regards,

Hellen.

hi:

thanks for reply! the program is geovision nvr system. it will use quick sync automatically if available and have no option to disable the behavior. when the system freeze, keyboard/mouse/network the whole system stop working. and the screen freeze (not black/blank). so it looks like there is some video problem. it I can disable quick sync then I can have a try, or I need to plug in another video card to test. I got two intel systems with the same problem.

Hi tbsky

I did a research in regards to your question and I found that in some desktop board BIOS there is an option to enable the feature. Please note it depends on motherboard manufacturer.

I recommend you to verify if you are already using the latest graphics driver for HD 4600.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/81496/Intel-HD-Graphics-4600-for-4th-Generation-Intel-Core-Processors https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/81496/Intel-HD-Graphics-4600-for-4th-Generation-Intel-Core-Processors

I reviewed Geovision home page and this software if fully compatible with Windows® XP, 7, 8 and Server 2008 and 2012; 10 is not supported yet.

Regards,

Mike C
