3D support on Pentium 4 CPU 521?

hi guys in need a solution my desktop(Intel Pentium 4 CPU 521, 2.8 GHz, RAM 512, Windows Ultimate 7, 32 bit base core 1, Processors sub-score 3.7) is too slow and does not play 3D games... please recommend me a suitable driver.

Please note the 3D support or our technology called Intel® InTru™ 3D was added from the first generation of HD graphics so I regret to say that the processor you have does not support 3D.

I think 3D is meant to mean games using polygons, textures, shaders, etc. rather than 2D sprite-based games or stereoscopic 3D games.

That said, you don't list which graphics chip you have (the Pentium 4 family doesn't have integrated graphics). Your specs sound like you might have a Dell Dimension 3100/E310, which has a GMA 900/915GV chipset. If you can give the model number of the desktop (if it's OEM) or your motherboard (if the PC is custom-built), I can get you the right driver.

That Compaq is very similar to the Dimension as far as hardware goes, utilizing the same chipset. I've installed the GMA 900 driver for Windows XP on at least three machines running Windows 7, so I know it works flawlessly. Here's the download link:

You might have to enable XP Compatibility Mode in the installer's properties, but once you do, installation will proceed without complaint and you'll be a reboot away from having functional 2D and 3D graphics. Just don't expect your PC to run fancy Windows Aero effects or recent games.

Hello there am so grateful for the assistance last year. I need you help again. i have this compaq nc6320 Netbook, yesterday i downloaded this cool x-plane simulator but it requires an open GL 2. 0. please help

I regret to say that the latest version of OpenGL your controller can use is 1.4. You can check this information at this link:

It will be necessary to change the hardware to be able to use a higher version of openGl. In this case any of the following Graphics chipsets or above can do the trick: G35, G41, G43, G45, GM45, GL40, GS40, GS45, Q43, Q45, B43, 4 Series Express Chipsets.

okay thanks a lot, i will have to order one of those soon. So far i found your help most resourceful, just wanted to ask you. it seems my system has so many things that i have to change. i have been having trouble using my laptops touch pad when the charger is connect it kind of miss behaves. can i get a touch pad drivers for compaq nc6320

It may be possible to get the drivers but you will need to contact HP to verify with them the drivers they have available.
