i7 6700 HD Graphics 530 - different resolution on identical screens

I connected a second screen on my computer but

one screen shows 2560x1440 pixel (connected via HDMI)
second screen shows only 1920x1080 pixel (connected via a DVI cable - cable was used for a 2560px resolution before, so it should be the right one)

more information

both screens are a BenQ GW2765 screen
Mainboard: MSI Z170A GAMING PRO Carbon Z170
no graphic card installed just using the Intel Graphics

I have updated the graphic and main board drivers to the most recent ones I've been able to find.

The Intel graphics tool on my Windows 10 named one screen "BenQ TV" and one screen "BenQ Display" anyway

Any chance to run both screens with 2560x1440px by using the integrated Intel graphics?

Connect one monitor via display port. Judging from previous issues by other users it's the favorite port on many rigs.

Yeah, I have checked the processor before buying and saw the same. The board has one HDMI and one DVI only, no display port. I have opened a ticket at MSI support as well.

If some of you guys here have one more idea... Don't wanna buy a graphics card for just some pixels (I am not a gamer)

I understand you would like to know if the DVI port that comes in your MSI Z170A GAMING PRO Carbon Z170 motherboard supports or not 2560x1440 screen resolution.

According to MSI* website the DVI that comes in the motherboard supports up to 1920x1200@60Hz. The HDMI port support a maximum resolution of 4096x2160@24Hz, 2560x1600@60Hz.

It seems I need a separate graphic card...
