Hello KOrcheese,

Thank you for your response

Based on the brief description of your issue, we noticed that your system is running dual graphics between your Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4720HQ CPU @2.60GHz and your Nvidia* GeForce GTX 960M.

Just for testing purposes can you please go ahead and test your games only with the Nvidia* graphics by following these steps:

1. Right-click on the desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel.

2. Click Manage 3D settings in Select a Task.

3. Select your desired software from the Select a program to customize drop-down list on the Program settings tab.

4. Select the High-performance NVIDIA processor from the Select the preferred graphics processor for this program drop-down list.

5. Click Apply.

Please let us know the results.

I hope this helps.

Best regards.

Diego S.

I recently decided to reset my laptop and started to install my previous games. I launched a game and realized the game play was a bit choppy so I investigated. I had this problem a long time ago and forgot how I came up with a solution. My processor is an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4720HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz but when I search up the drivers for it, it gives me a an exe file that keeps installing the i7-4600 drivers.

Laptop Specifications

Model: Lenovo Y50

Storage 1TB HDD

RAM: 16GB RAM

Graphic Cards: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4720HQ CPU @2.60GHz | Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M

Windows Specifications

Version: 1709

OS Build: 16299.431

Your processor contains a "Intel® HD Graphics 4600" GPU, you did not confuse that with "i7-4600"?

Anyway both i7-4720 and i7-4600 use the same driver.

Latest is here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27780/?product=78934 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27780/?product=78934

Sorry, I am just confused on stuff. For example, if I were to use integrated graphics, my game would detect that I have "Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600" and not something like "Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4720HQ CPU @2.60GHz." I'm just saying that before I reset my pc I had this exact problem with games not detecting the right cpu and causing games to be unplayable to due how poor the performance is. I remembered that it had to do with something of the drivers. I'm not 100% sure how this thing works.

Hello, sorry for the late reply.

I've come across a temporary solution to the screen tearing while playing games such as Fortnite, CSGO and Minecraft but i've come across another problem. The solution I had was that I factory reset my pc which installs an older intel graphics driver and because of this I run games normally with minimal screen tearing w/o vsync turned on. But by restarting my pc, my fps gets capped at 60fps even when vsync is turned off in-game and my control panels. I resulted to downloading a newer intel graphics driver but when that installs, all the screen tearing comes back and makes all games unplayable.
