Intel HD Graphics x Nvidia Optimus x 3D Software Problem

Hi,

I bought a notebook with processor Intel Core i7 4810MQ. This notebook comes with a Nvidia Card Geforce 980M,

There is that Nvidia Optimus program installed which is supposed to switch cards when im in need of 3D GPU to Nvidia Card.

This is giving my issues with my 3D programs, the GPU is used but the Intel card is still there and messes up and crashes the programs.

Is there a way to disable the Intel Card completely so that the primary card is always the Nvidia Card?

I understand that the Intel Card is integrated in the i7 processor, so it there a bios or something of the sort to disable the intel card completely?

This is really being an issue. I might take the notebook back if i cant resolve this. Please help me.

Thanks for joining the Graphics community.

This issue might be fixed if you try removing any Intel graphics driver and Nvidia drivers from Control Panel.

If you would like to disable the Intel graphics, you need to check for any BIOS or even some settings through Optimus program.

Please provide information about your computer model:

What is exactly the computer model?

Which version of Windows do you have? Windows 32- or 64-bit?

I checked the BIOS there is no information on GPU there.

My computer is this one:

I got the Geforce 980M + 32Gb RAM + SSD. Windows 8 PRO (64 bit)

I Use a 3D software that uses the GPU to help calculation (CUDA). Even though i go to OPTIMUS SETTINGS and select both global and the 3D program to use the HIGH PERFORMANCE NVIDIA card

the software insists on using both cards and so it crashes. I have another notebook with an earlier card (geforce 560M with a sandy bridge model) and there was no INTEL Graphics HD there. But now all the processors have this card?

At this stage, I recommend removing and re-installing any Intel graphics driver and Nvidia driver.

This is not the issue here. Reinstalling WONT solve the problem.

I would prefer a solution that would put the GEFORCE CARD the primary card and disable the INTEL that only gets in my way crashing the software. Video Card Switching is NOT needed here.

From the information I found for the Sager NP8268-S , there is not a way to disable switchable graphics on your model.

Intel should not PUSH their card forcibly. Thats not their business. It just ruins everything.

I have EXACTLY the same problem. I'm trying to hook up an external monitor and I've read on other forums the CPU intergrated graphics card is to blame. My external monitor WILL NOT WORK due to this and there is NO way to disable the intergrated graphics card. I have ZERO need for it as I'm running dual 980m's in sli.
