DELL_Intel Core i7-4500U CPU_RAM8GB_Windows 8.1 CRASH_UNKNOWN DRIVER

Hello,

So, I bought my new DELL laptop 3 months ago and the last week started to crash.

In the beginning the Event Name was APPCRASH-chrome.exe and camera.exe. I updated all the drivers - it was also weird the automated Windows update option wasn't working. I also uninstall Google Chrome!

Everything seemed to function properly until the day before yesterday until this morning, I had another CRASH named:

Cause: The 'Unknown' driver (C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\igdkmd64.sys) appears to have caused a system to crash Buck check code: 0x00000113 Driver: C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\igdkmd64.sys Driver version:10.18.10.3977 Device: Unknown

I am thinking that it may be a problem in the Graphics card or in the software Windows 8.1 generally.

More detail concerning the pc: AMD Radeon HD 8850M, Intel HD Graphics Family.

Could anyone provide with more information - advise of what to do?

Thank you for the information.

I personally had a similar issue with my own computer a few days ago and I found there is a windows update that makes Google Chrome unresponsive.

I would like you to check for your installed Windows updates. Here you have a link that explains how to uninstall an update:

Please look for this update: KB2670838.

Thank you for this suggestion.

I believe that there is a problem with the Intel Graphics Adapter which I recently updated.

So, I rolled back to the previous version and I will see how it goes.

I did the step above early in the morning, so I wasn't able to find the KB2670838 update in my directory as you told me.

Perhaps it was affected by the 'rolling back'..

I will let you know for further events that may occur.
