topic Monitor resolution 5120x1440 on Intel HD530? in Graphics

Is it possible to use the monitor Samsung C49RG94 49", 5120x1440, 120Hz on the integrated Intel HD Graphics 530 in full resolution? Maybe even with a second monitor 1920x1200 24" or 3440x1440 34"? Thanks a lot!

Here's the pertinent information:

The Intel HD Graphics 530 engine can support three output channels.

If configured for HDMI 1.4 output, a channel can support a full 4K (4096x2304) monitor at up to 24Hz and a standard 4K (3840x2160) monitor at up to 30Hz.

Similarly, if configured for HDMI 1.4 output, a channel can support a 5120x1440 monitor at up to 30Hz.

If configured for DisplayPort 1.2 output, a channel can support both standard and full 4K monitors at up to 60Hz.

Similarly, if configured for DisplayPort 1.2 output, a channel can support a 5120x1440 monitor at up to 60Hz.

If configured for DisplayPort 1.2 output, multiple monitors can be connected to a channel using either DisplayPort daisy-chaining or a Multi-Stream Transport (MST) Hub.

When multiple monitors are connected to a DisplayPort 1.2 output channel, they share the bandwidth of this channel.

If two 4K monitors are connected to a single DisplayPort 1.2 output channel, they can each run at up to 30Hz.

If a standard 4K monitor and a 1080p monitor are connected to a single DisplayPort 1.2 output channel, they can each run at up to 60Hz!

Regardless of the number of monitors that you could actually connect, the Intel HD Graphics 530 engine can simultaneously support up to three monitors.

If additional monitors are connected, they will remain blank.

Bottom line,

Yes, your 5120x1440 can be supported, but at only 60Hz on a DisplayPort 1.2 output channel and at only 30Hz on a HDMI 1.4 output channel.

Yes, you can potentially have an additional two 1080p, 2K and/or 4K monitors connected. This will be limited by the architecture of your motherboard's support for these output channels, however.

All this said, I have read a number of complaints from folks indicating that they had problems getting these ultra-wide monitors to work. I do not know if Intel Customer Support (@Bryce@Intel?) was ever able to resolve these issues. Until they do, everything I have said is theoretical.

Hope this helps,

...S
