I think I have an Intel HD 3000, but I'm not entirely sure anymore because when I tried to update it, Intel said this wasn't generic.

I don't know how to truly identify it, so I'll post my dxdiag for display devices.

Would appreciate if you can post the Graphics report here so I can check the information, It seems that the report you posted shows the driver. Other good steps would be to let us know what the processor model is and I will let you know what the graphics controller on it is.

Thanks for proving it was an Intel HD 3000. But I still have a question, why did the driver update utility say I had a customized driver?

The reason the Intel® Update Utility said you have a customized drivers may is because you have an OEM system. We as Intel® provide the hardware to the system manufacturers like Dell, Toshiba, Acer, HP, etc… and they will design and create special drivers for your computer. This is also the reason why we always recommend customer to try the driver from the system manufacturer first.

Due to this, there is also a chance that the drivers we provide may not work properly in the OEM computers since our drivers are generic drivers for these computers.
