Hi salessca1,

Sorry for the delay in response - I've been working on this issue myself here recently now that we have a system showing a particular black-screen issue. Would you be able to verify for me if connecting two monitors to your system shows a difference in the issue? As in, put one monitor via one cable, and another monitor via another cable at the same time.

Thank you,

-Nic

Just upgraded to windows 8 on my laptop and now my HDMI output is no longer working. I was using windows 8 preview and the HDMI output worked just fine. I have tried to update the driver with this download:

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Graphics&ProductLine=Laptop+graphics+drivers&ProductProduct=2nd+Generation+Intel%C2%AE+Core%E2%84%A2+Processors+with+Intel%C2%AE+HD+Graphics+3000/2000 http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Graphics&ProductLine=Laptop+graphics+drivers&ProductProduct=2nd+Generation+Intel%C2%AE+Core%E2%84%A2+Processors+with+Intel%C2%AE+HD+Graphics+3000/2000

but when I do I receive an error message that reads:

"This computer does not meet the minimum requirements to install the software."

I have tried using the windows 7 64 bit driver located here:

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/confirm.aspx?httpDown=http://downloadmirror.intel.com/21776/a08/Win7Vista_64_152257.exe&lang=eng&Dwnldid=21776&DownloadType=Drivers&OSFullname=Windows+7+(64-bit)* Download Center

but my HDMI output doesn't work with that drivertput

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again for the information. The processor you are using supports Intel® HD Graphics™, whereas the driver you're attempting to download is for Intel® HD Graphics™ 4000/2500 & 3000/2000.

There are currently no drivers for your processor for Windows 8, aside from the in-box driver provided by Microsoft. I will look into this more and see if I can come up with a solution for your problem.

To confirm, are you currently using the Windows Update supplied driver (version 8.15.10.2702), or still using the 2875 driver?

If it's still the latter, please uninstall that driver and run the Windows Update again to grab the 2702 driver.

I had given up on this as well. BUT

I was manually fiddling with the driver versions, trying again, restaring, try, restart try etc , and then when I had given up, I unplugged and then replugged in a VGA cable to a monitor....... and that enabled the HDMI to working......

Of course your circumstances may require more voodoo, but maybe try this!

I can repeatedly have the HDMI not work on reboot, until I plug a VGA cable in. At that point both the monitor enumerates properly via HDMI.

IT HAS TO BE A DRIVER ISSUE. Rebooting to Windows 7 on the same machine, and in prior use for the last year+ it works fine with HDMI.

Intel. your CPUs rock. Your drivers for graphics suck. This is a core i7 (620m) which was once you your top premium mobile chip in what was a protoype "ultrabook" of a Toshiba R700. To not make sure it works at launch with Windows 8 is a crime. This is not some obscure linux distro here.

Hi,

Just installed Win8 on my Acer Aspire Timeline 3820TG.

Graphic card is a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 and HDMI is no longer working for me (worked fine on Win7). Clicking Windows-key+P and choosing Extend/Second screen only nothings happens. The monitor reports "No signal", removing the HDMI cable the monitor reports (Control cable) - its a Samsung 27".

Everything updated according to windows update.

Took a few screenshots from Device Manager - it reports a problem for the ATI:

I use the second monitor (HDMI) everyday when working so I'm very interested in suggestions or workarounds.

Regards,

Christian

@Virginia: Start -> Run -> dxdiag -> Save All Information. Just Copy & Paste it here for me to take a look at.

@Christian: It looks like you need to update the drivers for your ATI card. You'll need to go to your OEM's website or directly to the ATI website to do that.

Thanks,

-Nic

Hi I have a HP 2000 notebook with the Intel Graphics HD (no version specified).

The display adapter is 9.17.10.2828, when I do a "update driver software" I get the answer that it's the latest available for my system.

The HDMI out port used to work but not anymore, I tried with my Toshiba TV and my DELL monitor but I can't get it to work anymore. I'm getting nuts over that problem. For some reason during the weekend it worked and I did not do any modification or update to my machine since.

Jacques
