Serious stability issues with 4th/5th gen. & Win10

System Used: Custom-built system on Gigabyte GA-Z97MX-Gaming 5
CPU SKU: Core i7-4790K
GPU SKU: Intel HD 4600
Processor Line: Haswell-DT/K-series
System BIOS Version: F5
CMOS settings: Mostly default; XMP enabled and DVMT = MAX
Graphics Driver Version: 4256
GOP/VBIOS Version: Not reported (?!)
Operating System: Windows 10 Pro N
OS Version: 10240
API: DirectX 11
Occurs on non-Intel GPUs?: N/A

Steps to Reproduce:
-------------------------------
1. Heavily load the Intel GPU with 3D games, or use QuickSync.
2. Intermittently, the system will hard-lock, usually within 10-15 minutes.

Expected Results:
-------------------------------
System does not hard-lock.

Actual Results:
-------------------------------
System hard-locks:
-- Completely unresponsive to mouse/keyboard input.
-- Image on display is frozen, audio becomes a solid tone.
-- System takes ~30 seconds to respond to reset button input. (!)

Additional Information:
-------------------------------
I am an experienced system builder and overclocker; the machine is very, very well-cooled and works flawlessly under any other kind of stress-test. This issue exists with all clock rates and other settings at specified defaults on a fresh install of Windows 10 with the latest driver installed from Intel Download Center. I first noticed it while trying to use QuickSync Video to encode a live video stream of Warframe gameplay using Open Broadcaster System, however I have confirmed that it is a more general Intel HD Graphics issue (whether driver, OS, or whatever) by testing with Handbrake and with several games.

As the machine hard-locks, there are no dump files or event logs to post.

Additionally, this same system worked flawlessly using QuickSync Video with Open Broadcaster System to record and stream gameplay under Windows 8.1. This is a clean install, however, not an in-place upgrade.

I saw that this was for developers, and looked for a user forum, but I couldn't find it. Google for "intel driver bug reporting" led me directly here, heh.

Thanks anyway. That forum looks like a cesspool, so I guess I'll just wait for a new driver.
