We have confirmed the same Problem on Fujitsu Esprimo P Computers with Intel Core i3 CPUs (Windows 7 64 bit).

I strongly suggest you (Intel) to make contact with Microsoft and have the faulty Update removed from Windows Update.

Before 2016/07/26 the Driver from Windows Update worked fine with all mentioned PCs.

Intel HD Graphics Windows Update issue on Lenovo PCs

Lenovo PCs with Intel Pentium G CPUs can't install latest Intel HD Graphics Driver from 2016-07-28 whether by Windows Update or from Intel Downloads page.

At least this is the case for ThinkCentre E73 models with Windows 7 64 bit. We have at least 5 different Computers with this issue, located at different customers.

Might happen with other manufacturers too.

Steps to reproduce:

Buy a Lenovo ThinkCentre E73 with Pentium G Processor
Install Windows 7 x64
Run Windows Update
Install "Intel Corporation driver update for Intel(R) HD Graphics" from 2016-07-28
Error code: 80070103 unknown Windows Update error.

Hi Simon,

Some OEMs take the Intel driver and modify it for their systems. So the driver from Intel.com will not install on those system only the one from the PC manufacturer.
