Intel uhd 10th gen lagging so much

I have bought a new laptop (core i5 10th gen intel uhd graphics) i wanted to play some old games but my laptop keeps lagging more than my old core i5 4th gen laptop( when i open the game the game automatically sets the graphics on medium but i can't even play it with low graphics the pc) what's the problem here?

Does the older laptop have Windows 7 installed?

I guess you try old "applications that don’t correctly comprehend a fully unified memory architecture"
