Intel Graphics Command Center Auto Dim Feature

I am using Intel Graphics Driver 27.21.14.6647, and Intel Graphics Command Center 1.100.3325.0. I'm using Windows 10 64.

An auto-dim feature is activating when darker objects are on the screen, and I have disabled this in the IGCC. In addition I have looked at all the settings in Windows, and everything is disabled. Lastly, I'm on a laptop, but not on battery when this is occurring, and the laptop is 100% battery, and receiving a charge.

I'm asking as I believe this to not be a Windows 10 issue, but an Intel graphics driver, or IGCC issue as I've newly upgraded to this machine, and my old Win 10 machine didn't have this issue.

Any ideas on how to fix this, please?

Based on the description that you provided, it seems that this relates to a known behavior, which is a dynamic brightness change that is unrelated to the "Adaptive brightness" setting in Windows*. The behavior is somewhat tied to the power management settings in graphics drivers, which, when disabled, allow the screen to maintain a constant brightness level. Below is the instruction on how to change the setting inside the Intel® Graphics Command Center:

Open the Intel® Graphics Command Center
Select System
Select Power
In On Battery, disable display Power Savings
Set Power Plan to Maximum Performance
Save changes and exit.

If the behavior persists, please provide the following information so we can check this further:

1- Did it work fine before? If this worked before, were there any recent hardware or software changes that might relate to the point when the issue started? (For instance, Windows®, driver, or software/BIOS updates?)

2- Is this happening with the built-in display and/or on an external display using a straight-through connection (e.g. HDMI-to-HDMI)?

3- A Report for Intel® Graphics Drivers following the steps on the link. If you use external monitors, make sure they are connected to the computer when generating the report.

4- Screenshots from Intel® Graphics Command Center showing the settings that you have available (e.g. Power Savings).

5- Run the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) to gather more details about the system.

Download the Intel® SSU and save the application on your computer
Open the application, check the "Everything" checkbox, and click "Scan" to see the system and device information. The Intel® SSU defaults to the "Summary View" on the output screen following the scan. Click the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View".
To save your scan, click Next and click Save.
Once you have saved the file (.txt file), please attach it to your reply.
To upload and attach a file, use the "Drag and drop here or browse files to attach" option below the response textbox.
