Does anyone have any benchmarks for real time applications on a system configured with Itanium processors vs. a system configured with Xeon processors? The Xeon can be dual core / single core or the Xeon system can be a DP / MP system. I need to pick a base configuration for a real time image processing application. Is the Itanium suited for a real time environment vs. a server environment. Cache size is very important to mebecause of the application'srandom LUT access. I know the Itanium have much more cache than a Xeon but it's L3 vs. L2. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
