topic 16 bit unsigned images support in IPP in Intel® Integrated Performance Primitives

Hello,
16 bits unsigned images are not very well supported by IPP: many functions work only with 8 bits unsigned and 16 bits signed images.
I would find functions with 16u arguments very useful. Are there other people interested in this kind of images?
Can I hope in an improved support of 16u images in the next releases of IPP?
Thank you very much
best regards

Ciro

Hi,

Yes, this question ispopular enough. People everytime wants to have even more functionality, but could you please specify what functions you are interested more? It would also be useful to submit such request to Intel Technical Support channel.

Regards,
Vladimir

Hi Fangming,

What do you exactly mean under convertion of 16 bit RGB data to 8-bit data? Is that about RGB565 to RGB888 convertion or just any 16-bit to 8-bit convertion?

I would recommend you to take a look on IPP documentation where you may find many useful information on IPP product.

Regards,
Vladimir
