One of the problems with the properties display for drivers is that the oldest message in the log is displayed by default. The message saying that the driver 'requires further installation' is the first displayed by the Intel driver installation packages during the installation process. Bottom line, this means nothing.

As for the situation with your microphone, we need more information. Please download and run the Intel System Support Utility for Windows. When you start the utility, select Everything and then click on Scan. Once it completes the scan process, click on Next and then Save. Pick a name for the text file to create and click on Save to create it. You can then close the app. Finally, open a response post here and then, using the Drag and drop here or browse files to attach dialog (below the edit box for the body of your response post), upload and attach this text file to the response post.

...S

I've gotten a new headset with a detachable microphone, but, it's not working for some reason. I've been trying to fix it, and when doing so, I found this error.

'Device INTELAUDIO\CTLR_DEV_51C8&LINKTYPE_06&DEVTYPE_06&VEN_8086&DEV_AE50&SUBSYS_159C1025&REV_0001\0603DIF_000A&UIF_0000 requires further installation.'

I don't know if it's part of why it's not working or separate. But I'd rather be sure than continue hitting my head on a brick wall when a possible solution is in front of me. However, it does say the device is working properly despite this error when I restarted my computer.

Intel Audio Driver (USB Audio) is an important driver that helps audio devices connected via USB, such as headphones, speakers, or microphones, work properly. Without this driver, sometimes the sound may not come out properly or the device may not work. Therefore, it is very important to install and keep this driver updated properly so that you get a good quality audio experience.
