      <title>IPP very slow compared to OpenCV</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I am trying to speed some code that uses the Open ComputerVision library. The function in question is:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;FONT size="2"&gt;
&lt;P&gt;cvCalcCovarMatrix&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The identical (functionally) function in IPP is &lt;FONT size="2"&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;ippsAccCovarianceMatrix_32f64f_D2&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I just benchmarked the two, and the IPP version is 40x slower. This is for the same data, running in the same function, one after another. What could be going on?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I am running on a P4-3.8GHz, Win XP Pro.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I measured and got IPP slow down about 3 times&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;This issue is corrected in IPP 5.3&lt;/P&gt;
