Can't run SSD optimizer on 750 series 400GB?

Maybe a simple question... I downloaded the SSD Toolbox, updated the SSD Firmware (now up to date) but the can't 'Run' the SSD Optimizer (greyed out) on my 750 Series 400GB?

(The drive is running fine but just want to ensure the best life for the SSD)

Hello DSalt,

We understand that you would like to manually run the SSD optimizer (trim) from the Intel® SSD Toolbox, but the option is greyed out.

For our Toolbox to be able to send the TRIM command to your SSD, you will first need to install the latest Intel® NVMe* Driver. Installing this driver will help your SSD work at it's best much more than running the optimizer will. In some cases, you may also need to update your BIOS.

Windows* 10 was built with SSDs in mind, so your operating system is by default already optimizing your drive, usually on a scheduled weekly basis. Manually running the optimizer is usually not recommended, as it will put unnecessary wear on your drive.

Thank you for the reply, that helped. I updated the driver as you mentioned and also learnt a lot from that link.

It seems that basically Windows does a lot of the SSD optimisation automatically which is great!
