Hi there,

I purchased a Gen4/5 PCIe adaptor for an Optane P5801X.

The X299 plateform (gen 3; other gen 4 SSDs work fine) is what I'm testing it on.
It displays PCIe 3.0 x1 (instead of x4) even though it is recognised under Windows.
Instead of testing the 905P, which is in PCIe 3.0 x4, I'm testing it.

Even though this SSD functions properly on the X99, might there be a problem with compatibility with the X299?
Or perhaps there's an adapter issue?

I saw that firmware for this SSD (currently the L031FP01) was available; the L0310600 is the one that is now available.

Current Firmware Versions for Solid State Drives with Intel® OptaneTM Technology and...

Would an FW upgrade resolve this problem?

Thank you for your assistance.

Current Intel® OptaneTM Solid State Drive Firmware Versions

Could this problem be resolved by an FW update?

I appreciate your assistance.

This forum is about software development and your question therefore got unnoticed. It would be better to ask in the memory and storage forum.
