Trouble getting started with Ambassador training

Hi all,

I'm trying to complete the intro student ambassador tutorials, which require me to either download the oneAPI base toolkit or develop in the cloud. I prefer to develop in the cloud because I have limited disk space, and I would like to avoid having to install all the dependencies.

I have access to DevCloud, but I'm unsure how to proceed. I launched JupyterLab from DevCloud and uploaded the contents of the .tar file (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/developer/articles/training/intel-dpcpp-compatibility-tool-training.html). They open up just fine, but it seems the libraries aren't recognized in the environment

Might you have any suggestions to help me get going?

You can try launching terminal from the JupyterLab's Launcher tab and access your directories and files.

Hi Shwetha,

Thanks for this tip. I navigated to the launcher, but I don't see oneAPI Python, Pytorch, etc. tools. How would I install these on my cloud account?

A bit of extra info: I successfully installed Visual Studio 2022 and installed the oneAPI base toolkit etc, but they are on a different drive (Q:) than my windows installation (C:) because my C drive is too small. Could we make this work instead? Let me know what you think.

Hi,

We don't have to install python, pytorch separately as these are pre-installed. I am guessing that you are having trouble navigating.

Open this webpage https://devcloud.intel.com/oneapi/get_started/ and login using your credential, click on the link to launch JupyterLab from bottom of the webpage. Then launch terminal from Launcher Tab.

And if you want to install oneAPI toolkit on your Windows machine follow the steps given here https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/develop/documentation/get-started-with-intel-oneapi-base-windows/top.html
