    <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have the following issue when working in debug mode and trying to use MPI with a single thread. Specifically, I try to run the example&amp;nbsp;"cl_solver_export_c.c" from&amp;nbsp;MKL v2023.2.0 package.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;MPI_INIT(NULL, NULL) throws an exception "Access violation reading location 0x0000000000000000".&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;int argc = 0;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;char** argv;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;MPI_INIT(&amp;amp;argc, &amp;amp;argv)&amp;nbsp;throws the same exception.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;How am I supposed to use MPI_INIT correctly?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;P.S. as a reproducer you can use your own example "cl_solver_export_c.c" in &lt;STRONG&gt;debug&lt;/STRONG&gt; mode.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Argyris&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Could you please let us know the OS details, exact Intel MPI version and Visual Studio version you are using?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Also, could you please provide us with the complete Visual Studio Project you are using so we could reproduce the same issue on our end?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;When we tried you using the MKL Sample code "cl_solver_export_c.c" on Intel oneAPI Command Prompt using the 2023.2 version, we are able to get the expected results without any errors. Please find the attached screenshot for more details.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;thanks for the reply.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;UL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;the OS is Windows 11 64-bit&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;the Visual Studio version is Professional 2019&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;the Intel MPI version is 2022.2&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;the libs I link are mkl_rt.lib, mkl_core.lib, mkl_blacs_intelmpi_lp64.lib, mkl_intel_lp64.lib, mkl_sequential.lib and impi.lib&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/UL&gt;&lt;P&gt;P.S. your example "&lt;SPAN&gt;cl_solver_export_c.c&lt;/SPAN&gt;" works fine if I run it in release mode.
