&lt;P class="sectionBodyText"&gt;When something like %LINK_FNL_STATIC% is written in the help files, like "&lt;CODE&gt;ifort %FFLAGS% example.f90  %LINK_FNL_STATIC%", what does that actually mean? It's not actually a command, so how do you know what to use as a command in its place?&lt;/CODE&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

It's not actually a command, so how do you know what to use as a command in its place?&lt;/CODE&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
