topic Determining which version of MKL is currently installed in Intel® oneAPI Math Kernel Library

We have a linux software package that is compiled against different versions of IPP (4.x and 5.x) and IMKL (6.x throuth 10.0). Are there any ways of automagically determining which version of the math library is currently installed?

Unfortunately we can not count on RPM being used for the installation. All we can count on right now is an environment variable (IPP_ROOT or IMKL_ROOT) pointing to the directory where the math library was installed. Our user base ranges from the administratively savvy to the administratively clueless.
