No. The Evo 960 is an NVMe SSD. As best I understand, optane memory only works with SATA drives. They can be SSD, SSHD, HDD, 2.5", 3.5", M.2, but must be SATA.

Thank you for your interest in the Intel® Optane™ Memory.

As community member CMorales kindly pointed out, the Intel® Optane™ Memory is designed to only accelerate SATA-based storage media (the performance benefit will be greater on slower storage devices like an HDD), so it does not support NVMe* drives (hence the "unsupported system disk" error message).
