We understand your situation regarding the Intel® Optane™ Memory. &lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;In order to accelerate your secondary drive you will need to meet the following requirements as per &lt;A href="https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000027987/memory-and-storage.html"&gt;https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000027987/memory-and-storage.html&lt;/A&gt; this article: &lt;UL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;Drives that are Type 'Dynamic' aren't supported. Drive must be in Type 'Basic' as seen in Disk Management (Windows logo + x and select Disk Management).&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;Intel Optane memory-enabled motherboard with the Intel® RST Pre-OS UEFI Driver version 16.0.2.3402 or later. Consult your motherboard vendor for the proper system BIOS version for this support.&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/UL&gt;&lt;P&gt;As per &lt;A href="https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z370N-WIFI-rev-10#"&gt;https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z370N-WIFI-rev-10#&lt;/A&gt; support-dl Gigabyte* support website, there is a BIOS update that supports the Intel® Optane™ Memory and it is F4. &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We recommend you to contact &lt;A href="https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/topics/oems.html"&gt;https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/topics/oems.html&lt;/A&gt; Gigabyte* in order to confirm that the BIOS version F4 contains the Intel Optane memory-enabled motherboard with the Intel® RST Pre-OS UEFI Driver version 16.0.2.3402 or later that is required in order to accelerate the secondary drive. &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Please let us know the outcome of your situation. &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;I&gt;&lt;B&gt;NOTE:&lt;/B&gt;&lt;/I&gt; Any links provided for third party tools or sites are offered for your convenience and should not be viewed as an endorsement by Intel® of the content, products, or services offered there.       <title>Problem Enabling Optane memory</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I am trying to enable a 16gb optane memory chip to use as a cache for a secondary storage HDD.  It appears as a 12gb NVMe SSD in RST, but the option to enable it is grayed out and it says i have no optane available.  Attached is the SSU report&lt;/P&gt;</description>
