Gigabyte GA-X99P-SLI and Intel Optane SSD 9

Hello community,

I purchased an Intel Optane SSD 9 for my PC containing a Gigabyte GA-X99P-SLI mainboard.

I plugged the GPU (Geforce RTX 2070 Super) in the PCIE_1 slot and the Optane in PCIE_2.

No other HDD or PCIe device is connected.

After that, I was able to boot the machine from USB and install Windows 10 (1903).

All good, but the problems began after that and show up in different variations:

V1: When I start the PC, it freezes in the BIOS screen ("Gigabyte Insist on Ultra Durable")

V2: When I start the PC, Windows performs an automatic repair / diagnose, but seems to freeze there...

V3: This happens very rarely, the PC boots into Windows... VERY quick!

Is this some kind of BIOS settings problem, or what am I doing wrong?

BIOS is set to optimal standard / factory default.

Any help would be appreciated.

Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-X99P-SLI > BIOS Version F25b

GPU: Geforce RTX 2070 Super (in PCIE_1)

HDD: Intel Optane SSD 9 (280 GB in PCIE_2)

CPU: Intel Core i7 6800K 6x

RAM: 32GB DDR4

I would contact gigabyte and ask this question as it is their bios.

The requirements for using an Optane module include:

native M.2 NVMe socket on the motherboard (i.e. not on an add-in PCIe card).
Windows 10 x64.
7th/8th Gen Intel Core processor.
BIOS support for Optane (look for systems with the “Intel Optane memory ready” designation).

Your system does not come anywhere near meeting these requirements.
