Uninstalling Intel Optane memory

Hi, I wanted to replace intel optane with SSD. What are the configuration changes that would take place and what are the steps to follow? Thanks

1. You need disable Optane Acceleration first. To disable Optane Acceleration and uninstall the Optane application follow para. 5.1.2 trough 5.1.3 in the Optane User Guide .

2. I don't know what is your system. In Intel NUC with Optane Installed, the SATA Mode in BIOS is set to "Intel RST Premium with Intel Optane System". In other system it may be "RAID" or similar. If you install now system on a SSD, the SATA mode should be set to AHCI.

If you are going to reinstall your O.S, change the SATA mode before starting the installation. If yoy are intending to move your system from HDD to SSD, in order to change SATA Mode without destroying Windows boot, Windows must be set to SAFE Boot Mode. While in Windows, press Windows key + r. Run msconfig . Chose Boot tab and enable Safe boot. Reboot your system.

Now while your Windows is booting in SAFE mode, you can change the SATA Mode to AHCI.
