While i was using my laptop my system crashed and went to recovery. I tried to install windows using usb and noticed that the 512gb portion of my Intel Optane 32gb+512gb ssd disappeared. I installed windows on my hdd and found this in intel optane app in microsoft store. I am using acer Aspire a514-53

Hello, Chaos1.

Thank you for posting on the Intel Community Support forums.

I received your case regarding the Optane Memory H10 drive, and I will be reviewing this with you.

As a note, I closed the other community thread and moved this one to the Optane community section.

Regarding the drive, the Optane H10 series can be considered a 2-in-1 drive, if only one portion of the drive is recognized, it is important to confirm if the unit is defective or if there are any problems or changes in the system BIOS.

Check the system BIOS for the appropriate settings required by Optane H10, these may have different names and locations depending on the manufacturer, but generally these are as follows:

PCIe remapping: Disabled

Legacy Support or CSM: Disabled.

SATA mode or RAID mode: Intel RST Premium / Optane Ready / RAID

If you are going to try connecting the drive to a different system, it is important that both portions of the Optane H10 are recognized, so check if it is Optane H10 compatible and uses Intel RST or the Optane Memory and Storage Management.

You may also check directly with ACER if they have any details about similar issues and a possible fix, or help you confirm if a warranty replacement is still possible depending on the warranty coverage provided by them.

I will follow up on August 9th in case additional time is required.

Regards,

Bruce C.

Intel Customer Support Technician
