How to remove corrupt HDD

While in for repair, they determined my HDD was corrupt.. Simply pulled it out, removed the Intel Memory . Did the HDD get corrupted because of mishandling?

At any point in time, unless you have disabled the Optane Memory Module's caching of the data drive, a portion of that drive *is* going to look like it is corrupted (though it really isn't). This is because some of the content (including folder structure) is currently being stored in the Optane Memory Module and not yet on the drive. If you are going to be separating the Optane Memory Module and the drive - or moving the module and drive as a pair to another system - you *must* disable the Optane Memory Module caching. Disabling the caching causes the module to flush all pending data to the drive. The drive will then not appear to be corrupted.

If you haven't followed this advice, then you are going to lose all of the data on the drive. User beware!

Thank you. I will be back. Neurological issues make moving and thinking difficult. Sometimes more than others. BBGS refuse to take responsibility for butchering optane drive and HDD. Claim it was corrupted when brought in.

We have discontinued the following products. They have reached their End of Life (EOL). Available support options include:

Technical support content through Intel Customer Support.
If applicable, products under warranty can still get warranty service through the Warranty Center.

Along with that, on the lable stated that the Optane SSD is under Lenovo part number and you may reach Lenovo support team for further assistance.
