i7 2630m Problem

So, my processor is running at 798 Mhz instead of the 2001 Mhz and turbo boost isnt working. Normally at 100% load it heats to 80c, now at 100% it stays under 50c, reflecting an obvious decrease in performance. Any suggestions as to what happened?

It will be very helpful if you provide details about your system and the settings that you have before and after the problem occurred. Have you made changes? A detail of your problem possibly right before its occurence and thereafter might help also.

Unfortunately dont know exactly when it happened... all i know is the only thing that may have changed is I installed new windows updates or I installed battlefield 2/ logitech f130 gamepad, only difference so far. In the resource monitor i noticed the maximum frequency of the processor is set at 39%, i think this may be my problem. Any suggestions on how i can increase this?
