I am not experiencing any other problems.

Is this a processor fault or something else, any advice would be appreciated

Thanks for joining the Processor community.

You may need to run processor diagnostic tool and detect if the processor is defective or not.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=19792&lang=eng IPDT 64bit

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=19791&lang=eng IPDT 32 bit

Try updating motherboard BIOS as well: http://www.asrock.com/support/download.asp?Keyword=Z97M&Type=MB&Socket= Download Files form ASRock Inc.

Allan.

Hi Allan,

I have checked the BIOS, it is up to date. I have run the diagnostic tool several times including burn in mode and the result is always a Pass. Does a Pass mean definitively that the processor is OK ?.

I have also tried looking at windows logs to find other errors that happened at the same time, but that is quite a job and I did not have any success.

I have included the details view of the error log below, there seems to be a lot of information there but it means little to me but perhaps this is out of your remit.

DETAILS VIEW

- <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event">

- <System>

 <Provider Name="Microsoft-Windows-WHEA-Logger" Guid="{C26C4F3C-3F66-4E99-8F8A-39405CFED220}" />

 <EventID>19</EventID>

 <Version>0</Version>

 <Level>3</Level>

 <Task>0</Task>

 <Opcode>0</Opcode>

 <Keywords>0x8000000000000000</Keywords>

 <TimeCreated SystemTime="2014-11-22T20:32:55.066322600Z" />

 <EventRecordID>63181</EventRecordID>

 <Correlation ActivityID="{E357EF4D-62AA-4FC9-9831-5EF1FE30413B}" />
<p style="margin-bo...

The processor diagnostic tool provides accurate information.

Have you tried testing different processor?

If you do not have spare processors. You may need to call Intel support at:

Online warranty:

https://servicerequestmgmt.intel.com/webticketui/emailpage.aspx Service Request Email

Chat support:

http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/contactsupport Contact Support

Allan.
