i am looking to clarify some understanding using the Intel classification schema of processors.

we see in the title:

Optimizing the Linux* Kernel for the Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 processor

I am researching the " Intel Pentium B960 ".

as far as the number 4 as shown in the title. would the number 4 designate a series. Or what is the number four for.

The bottom line here is to find a article similar to the one shown at http://www.intel.com/support/processors/sb/cs-012822.htm http://www.intel.com/support/processors/sb/cs-012822.htm, yet for the " Intel Pentium B960 ".

And similar articles for other Intel processors.

Is there a Directory, Database, tables with a word associated with it that would hold the information that is similar in nature to what is available at

Recent processors from Intel do not require any kind of optimization and if it's required, you should select that most updated processor option from the Kernel optimization utility that you are or will be using. Due to this, there is no similar document for the processor in question.
