Fastest Processor for Single Core Application

Hi,

I run a software on Win XP only.

The application is an APS which is Single Core.

When running APS on computers with a dual or quad core CPU, I may notice that only one core is used and the others remains idle. Thus,

on a dual core CPU the maximum CPU utilization is 50% and on a quad core 25%.

I would like to know what would be the fastest processor to run a single core application on?
