Ram problem, CPU it's the cause?

i have this pc: CPU: Intel Core I5 750 @ 2.66 GHz, MOBO: Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2, RAM: 2x2GB Corsair XMS3, VGA: Sapphire 5770, ALI: Corsair 550W

i just have contact Gigabyte, and after some attempts, they said to me this:

The problem might caused by pins on CPU socket. Bent pins might cause system memory size incorrect. Please check the pins by fowllowing steps:

take out your processor and check the pins whether is it bended?

I've never taken out a processor, I've fear to damege the cpu... so i ask before here if it can be the cause...

you need to take out the CPU in order to check whats really happen to the problem..

just make sure, nobody is disturbing you..

in a quiet room...

and slowly take out the fan.. and slowly take out the CPU.. and

the moment you take out the CPU. it will be very obvious to see whether is there any bended pins on the Processor socket..

if there is.. please get the black plastic processor cover to protect the processor contacts..

and send the board for repair
