I notice that Core i3-330M is specified as "Embeded" while the Core i5-430 is not. What technically does "Embedded" mean?

Here is where I see the speicfication:

i3-330M: http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=47663 http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=47663

i5-430M: http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=43537 http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=43537

Thanks in advance.

It means Intel will manafacture the chips for an extended period of time so people that built robots or similar can rely on being able to get replacement parts in the future.

This is Intels embedded site, you can read up on what they offer for embedded solutions.

http://edc.intel.com/ http://edc.intel.com/

I love this "what is embedded" discussion. It's one I have frequently (I'm responsible for the content on Embedded.com and all the ESCs around the world). There really isn't one right answer, and it usualy depends on the technical knowledge of the person you're having the debate with. The simplest definition of an "embedded system" that I'm aware of is that an embedded system is a computer whose end function is to be something other than a computer.
