upgrade laptop processor..?

i wish to upgrade the processor on my acer aspire timeline 4810t with a mobile intel core 2 solo su3500 (Intel 82801IEM ICH9M-E, cantiga gs45). is it possible and in case how/where to find a compatible processor?

Please contact the laptop manufacturer for them to provide you a list of supported processors for your alptop. Keep in mind that the compatiblity is determined by the laptop manufacturer, not by the processor manufacturer.

SU3500 is a BGA processor soldered on a motherboard. You can upgrade it only by unsoldering the old CPU and soldering new one, or replacing the motherboard with better processor. So, in my opinion, your laptop is not upgradeable.

You are right, if the processor is soldered to the motherboard, it cannot be replaced, you will need to replace the whole motherboard.
