Does a 7th GEN Core i5-7400 need a cpu fan. It came with a giant metal heat disspiator in the box but not a cpu fan. I am building a new PC and the new PC case has 3 case fans.

To answer your question, normally this model of processor came with a cpu fan and that is the way we recommend to use it. Even though the case has 3 fans the processor should include and use a cpu fan on it to work properly.

Thank you Alberto...I unsealed my processor and there it was the cpu fan. The part of the box its in I previously opened only looked like a metal heat sink without cpu fan. My medication for my illness affects my eyesight sometimes. Anyway thanks again
