Hi i have 6th Generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ Processor (6M Cache, up to 3.50 GHz) on a Inspiron 7459.

It goes up to 98 degrees from stress tests.

When playing games also that high.

I did the dell stress test and went up to 92.

And stayed there no matter what.

Core 0 goes up to 75C

core 1 up to 98C

core 2 up to 75C

core 3 up to 97C.

Is that normal?

I have update my bios all drivers are update.

What are the working temps during heavy duty?

Maybe is a default CPU?

Just a notice core 1 throttles in order to cool off

In regard to this matter, I just wanted to let you know that based on the information we have in our web site the t-junction temperature for this processor is 100°C, so actually if it is reaching up to 98°C or 92°C it is actually expected, as you can confirm on the following link:

When the processor gests overheated the system will start to throttle or freeze and sometimes it will go off by itself, if none of those symptoms is happening means the processor is working fine.

We do have a tool to test the processor, it does an overall test including a temperature test, please run the tool, if the processor passed the test should be fine:

Now, if by any chance the processor does not passed the test or if the PC is throttling, getting freeze or going off by itself, then remember that the warranty is provided by the manufacturer of the system, so in that case the best thing to do will be to get in contact directly with them for further technical or warranty assistance.
